The Thermo-Generator is a cell that runs using the 'Peltier Effect'. The 'Thermocouple' is a device that generates a voltage when a junction between 2 different metals is heated. The Thermo-Generator is the opposite effect. When current is applied to many junctions in the form of a flat plate, one side of the junction becomes hot and the other side becomes cold. In the IEC Thermo-Generator, 2x 4mm sockets permit application of DC to run the cell and the heating and the cooling is very obvious. Ice can form on the cold side.
