The laws of refraction and reflection are easily demonstrated by this new portable apparatus. A vertical semicircular white enamel plate is marked in one degree intervals 0-90-0. A battery powered red LED is magnetically attached to the plate so that the beam passes through a semicircular clear plastic plate, also magnetically attached.

The light can be moved across the top of the plate to show both the angles of reflection and refraction. The plastic plate may also be positioned so that many variations can be measured.
