The Clinostat is an instrument for the close study of small plants growing from seeds and shoots. This item consists of a rugged motor rotating at 4 turns/hour that turns a sponge platform with a transparent cover. Various plants and shoots can be pinned to the sponge and the cover is easily removed for spraying a little water on the growth. Students can study the progress of growth and the rotation ensures light is evenly distributed and gravity does not make all the plants sag downwards. Runs on 220/240V mains and is provided with a removable mains cable.
