established in 1988 by Adrian Grostate to serve the laboratory and curriculum
equipment needs of all educational institutions in Australia.
The rapid growth of the company led to a restructuring to help
focus on specific areas of the school system. Thus Haines
Learning was created to concentrate on Primary education and
mathematics.
Haines Educational continues to be a value supplier to Secondary
Schools, TAFE’s, Universities and International Schools.

Senior Staff Profiles
Adrian Grostate is the Managing Director of Haines Educational. He is a graduate of
Monash University, the author of six books and numerous articles and a former science
co-ordinator at a leading Melbourne college.
Maria Waddell is the Managing Director of Haines Learning. She attended Toorak Teachers
College and has many years experience in sourcing premium primary school resources.
Michael Broberg is the General manager and a graduate of Monash University. He is the author
of a book on business and is a former science and mathematics teacher.
Graeme McAliece is the Calculator sales co-ordinator and is a former bank accountant and
import manager.
Ram Venkat is the Chief Graphic Designer. He is a graduate (Ph.D) of Madras University
in microbiology and biochemistry.
Lindsay Coker specialises in customer service and sales. He is a veteran of the scientific supply
industry and is known to just about everybody. He is also a radio announcer and author.
